At Merrimack during Larkin's JR year in which he was DII All American, he batted .434 with 14 Home Runs during the regular season.

Not the best PRO statistics in the world, (.252 lifetime) but managers kept Larkin around year after year because he loved the game and he was extremely versatile, playing almost every position except pitcher and catcher. 

Larkin had several stints in which he was asked to play 1B on a daily basis, and during one of these stretches with The Nashua Pride, Larkin hit .417 and recorded a two hit game against former Houston Astros 20 game winner Jose Lima...that same season (03) Jose went on to win 8 straight with the Kansas City Royals....the following year he won 13 with the LA Dodgers.
